Who We Are

CABY is an Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) group representing the Cosumnes, American, Bear and Yuba watershed region. We are a collaborative planning group of more than 30 organizations, representing water supply, conservation, recreation, agriculture, and community interests, as well as federal and local government agencies. We have been working since 2009 to improve water management in the Sierra foothills by increasing communication and coordination and seeking funding to implement projects throughout the region.

Our successes

CABY has achieved remarkable success. In 2011, CABY received $3,197,503 from DWR to support 16 high-priority water management projects. In 2013, CABY obtained another $5,163,032 to support 7 more important projects and $647,593 to fund a comprehensive update to our IRWM Plan. In 2014, $6,184,197 was awarded to support drought relief projects and in 2015 we were awarded a further $945,510 for additional high-priority projects.
