Sierra Fire & Water Project Survey

We'd like to hear what you have to say!

The UC Berkeley Sierra Fire and Water Project presented information regarding their work at the most recent Planning Committee meeting. They are looking for more input. Please click the survey link below (the questions are brief) to help these researchers gather information.

The Sierra Fire and Water Project is funded with a grant from the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Our major goal is to develop better technical and spatial tools that can be used by stakeholders such as yourselves to understand the interaction between fires, fuels treatment projects, and water quality objectives.  We hope you will take some of your valuable time to fill out this short questionnaire so that we can better understand how we can best address the challenges faced by stakeholders who typically deal with fire threats and water resources
separately. In your region, the Cleveland Fire and the Angora Fire sometimes demonstrated unfortunate interactions when fires burned more intensely through forests that were supposed to protect water sources.

Better tools to identify and mitigate such outcomes require initial feedback from stakeholders with various areas of expertise. We will analyze the feedback to design our work and will also provide you with the summary results and resulting products.

Sincerely,

Bill Stewart and the SFW Team
